Guided, illustrated tours on how a violin is built
Workshop visits for 2024I am glad to welcome people who want to discover this magical instrument.
The conditions for visiting the workshop are a booking by email or WhatsApp and groups of no more than about 20 people.
So, these are meetings intended above all for families or small groups.
If the group is larger than 20/25 people, it will be split into two shifts.
Anyone who comes to Cremona should visit a workshop so as not to miss a centuries-old tradition that is very important for the city.
Do not miss this exciting and unique experience.
For more information, write to cremona@violini.net and I will reply the same day.
Ask for information or book a visit
Those most interested will therefore be tourist groups, school classes, families or private individuals who are particularly
curious to learn more about the violin and the other instruments of the quartet.
The workshop receives a maximum of twenty people per group (all seated).
You need to make an appointment as early as possible, especially for the months of March, April and May.
Visits can also be arranged on Sundays.
The visit will last about forty-five minutes, during which you will be immersed in the
fascinating world of violin making. You will be able to touch the woods, the shavings, parts of instruments
under construction and the specific tools of the trade, smell the varnishes made from fragrant natural
resins and finally learn the secrets of the sound of the violin.
Depending on the time available, we will talk about old violins and their appraisals, trying
to understand how to tell a violin by a Master from the countless copies.
The cost for the year 2026 is € 75 VAT included per group. The cost stays fixed regardless of the number of
people, but families and private individuals can in any case benefit from a reduced rate. Contact me for a quote.
Payment on the spot or by bank transfer. Payment is in advance for new customers and, as usual, for regular customers. A proper tax receipt or invoice is issued. For bookings, write to the email address: cremona@violini.net. You can also book by calling +39 340 8498023 but your confirmation must be made by email.
Hearing a violin or cello
In addition, on request, you can ask for a hearing of an old or a new violin, or of both,
to compare the sound of a new instrument with one that has already been played
(the result is not obvious!). For those who cannot hear the difference, it will in any case be
a fascinating experience just to see and hear the skill of the musician.
The hearing will last about 15 minutes but can also be longer depending on the time available.
The musicians invited to play are of international level. The additional cost is 60 euros VAT included.

seasoned with a touch of romance".

Merry Christmas and thank you for the magnificent meeting that left a pinch of magic in each of us.
Ada.
Encore merci
Jean Pierre B.

Daniela Bernard

- My son E. and I are still grateful to you for the lovely and instructive morning we spent together last Saturday,
we imagined that building a good violin took passion but not that much!!
In an increasingly standardised world it is truly wonderful to see that there are still craftsmen who build with
passion, following the rhythms of nature and not of the budget.
Thank you again, every time we see or hear a violin from now on, we will surely listen to it with a different
attention…
Claudio
- My wife and I were at your place on Friday the 9th around 3 or 4 in the afternoon...we were just the two of us...there.....
we felt like sponges hearing you talk with that passion that makes even someone who isn't one into a violinist!!
It was an unforgettable experience.
Thank you
Augusto B.
- I am listening to the CD of the Quartetto Caprice recorded with your instruments, and I remember
with great pleasure the visit made with my travel companions on the wonderful Locarno-Venice "expedition" along the
waterways organised by Claudio R. Thanks to you, we spent a most pleasant morning, full of information
that was even surprising, sounds, scents and… passion for the craft.
Thank you and warm greetings from Italian-speaking Switzerland
Laura
