Viola, Gasparo da Salò model
This viola, built at the end of 2011, is inspired by a Gasparo da Salò model. The size of the viola is 395 mm. As a special feature, apart from the model itself, a wood other than maple was used for the back. This wood, seasoned for 30 years, makes this viola unique. On 28 February 2012 a test was carried out on this viola which gave very exciting results. Power, easy response and a quick reaction, with an excellent balance between the strings.
